Toddler Baseball Classes

Lil Sluggers Twin Cities Baseball Classes maintain small class sizes to provide the best toddler baseball training and Minneapolis child baseball classes to all of our Lil Sluggers. Classes peak at 5 to 6 kids per coach. The difference in skill level between a 2 year old and a 4 or 5 year old are extremely drastic, and we teach an entirely customized class to each age group. As they gain hand eye coordination, listening skills, and physicality, we push them forward using new games and more challenging curriculum.
2-Year Olds – Toddler Baseball Class “Mascot”
The Mascots curriculum is designed to have the child begin their baseball experience in a fun environment that introduces the simple basics of the game.
Objectives:
Simple base running and base recognition
Hitting; holding the bat properly, focusing on making contact with the ball off of a tee
Throwing in an overhand motion
Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands and not falling down
Fitness and agility
Improved hand/eye coordination
An introduction to social skills such as following simple instructions and taking turns
Note: Some Parent / Caregiver participation May be required.
3-Year Olds – Twin Cities Baseball Class “Minors”
The Minors curriculum is designed introduce or continue the child baseball class experience in a fun environment that also reinforces the basic fundamentals of the game.
Objectives:
Simple base running and base recognition
Hitting; focusing on proper stance and level swing to make contact with the ball off of the tee.
Introduction to hitting a pitch
Throwing...point, step and throw with proper motion and aim
Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands, staying in front of the ball and not falling down
Understanding straightforward game situations, such as throwing a player out
Fitness and agility
Improved hand/eye coordination
Advancement of social skills such as following instructions, taking turns and teamwork

4 Year Olds – The Majors
The Majors curriculum expands on the skills learned in the 3 year old program, with slightly more technical instruction and game situations. The kids love the game situations.
Objectives:
Proper base running and sliding techniques
Hitting: focusing on proper stance, level swing, and follow through off the tee. Begin hitting from a pitch by the coach
Throwing: point, step and throw with proper motion for distance and accuracy
Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands and staying in front of the ball
Catching pop flies with two hands
Learning various offensive and defensive game situations
Fitness and agility
5/6 Year Olds – Hall of Famers!
The Hall of Famers twin cities baseball curriculum is designed to have the children continue improving their fundamental skills while preparing them for their next level of participation - ORGANIZED TEE-BALL!
Objectives:
Base recognition and proper base running techniques
Five steps of hitting with focus on proper form including full swing and hip rotation
Correct throwing mechanics emphasizing accuracy and distance
Proper fielding technique, keeping their body in front of the ball
Using the baseball glove for fielding of line drives and pop flies
Game Situations and teamwork The Majors curriculum expands on the skills learned in the 3 year old program, with slightly more technical instruction and game situations
